are vintage oriental style bellydancers in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

Janim is a professional bellydancer and the director of West of Cairo. She teaches classes on Tuesdays at Istanbul Grill and performs throughout the greater Pittsburgh region. Katia grew up as a farmgirl, dancing barefoot in the green pastures of Wisconsin. She began a serious study of Middle Eastern dance much further south, in the mountains of North Carolina. She has extensive knowledge of both tribal and cabaret bellydance styles, along with additional training in afro-cuban, bhangra, and hip hop dancing. Katia’s background as a Shakespearean theatre company co-founder and classical and celtic Harpist gives her additional expertise in staging and performance. Katia is an elegant and striking performer, and her classes are upbeat, energetic, and deeply informative.
